Headhunting in DACH regions has many integration advantages, especially for German-speaking companies because the DACH region refers to the entire German-speaking area of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Often the small states of Liechtenstein and/or Luxembourg, or the German-speaking minorities in Italy, Belgium and/or Denmark are included.

The term DACH is derived from the international licence plate country codes of each of the three countries, that is, "D" for "Germany", "A" for Austria and "CH" for Switzerland (Confoederatio Helvetica).

Measured by gross domestic product, Germany, which is organised as a market economy, is the largest economy in Europe and the fourth largest in the world. Measured by the gross domestic product per capita, however, Switzerland is one of the most prosperous countries in the world, but Austria also has a much higher standard than Germany with a GDP per capita of EUR 39,990.

In addition to a common language, the high standard of education and training as well as human development in general, are of course also a great advantage. Almost every sector, service or industry is served by the DACH countries at a high level. Above all, Switzerland and Germany are considered to be very competitive, so that in the ranking of the Global Competitiveness Report 2019, Switzerland is ranked 5th out of 141 countries, and Germany 7th. Austria, on the other hand, is relatively average in terms of competitiveness compared with other highly developed countries. With 21st place, Austria is behind countries such as Israel, South Korea and France. The Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO) cites as the reason "a high burden of public regulation, the limited number of air connections, the low use of high-performance broadband networks or the high taxes and duties on labour". Above all, the lack of mobility within Austria, as well as the restrictions on the use of foreign labour, do significantly increase the shortage of skilled labour.
